Rage is fierce clarity and untapped fuel; a natural resource of misused energy that requires our loving attention. Embraced with compassion, the trapped energies of rage are liberated and become an intimate teacher of balance, integrity, and resiliency, greatly enhancing our relationships and our service to the world.
Women from many parts of the world have participated in this, each completing a detailed questionnaires about their rage history.
In this work, healing is about remembering who we are and what we deeply know. It is about learning how to work with your mind in ways that relieve suffering. This retreat is also about cultivating a tolerance for peaceful liberation. This means allowing the discomfort often associated with rage to inform you for the benefit of a healthier life and future, and it may even mean that you give up a bit of comfort for more consciousness.
Transforming RageĀ is not an attempt to eliminate rage from our lives. Rather, this is a celebration of profound introspection that allows our most enraging and shame-provoking experiences to heal us.
“Dear Ruth: Thanks so much for being you and for facilitating such awesome work for us beautiful, courageous women! Lots of things have come up for me. I am finally grieving the loss of my family and letting go all of the conditions that were place upon me. The quiet moments are still a struggle but I’m getting better at being in the moment and feeling whatever comes up as a part of me. I am also realizing that instead of being angry, I am finding compassion in the world and that feels surprisingly peaceful. Ruth thanks so much for your support and understanding of this work and for bringing together women who are doing this work. It really helps to know that I am not alone.” Pamela Cole, Youth Activist, SF, CA
“The (Celebration of Rage) retreat was great for me. All my emotions are more available and real to me now, and I am much better able to handle and support the anger of others. Thank You!” Jana Freiberger, Organization Development Consultant, WA

Testimonials:
“The (Celebration of Rage) retreat was the most powerful emotional experience I’ve ever had. At work the staff has commented and patients have asked me for hugs or radiated more to my presence. I have been energized beyond belief, my appetite has been less and I want only healthy foods! This is fantastic! I must offer you my thanks, gratitude, appreciation, inspiration and admiration.” Kendra Reese, RN, Children’s Psychiatric Hospital, Kentucky
“Celebration of Rage was one of the best retreats I have ever participated in. One of the primary reasons is your incredible ability to create a sacred and safe space. I felt not only allowed–but downright encouraged–to let my rage child express herself. It was an utterly profound experience. I was also very impressed by your willingness to talk to all of us by phone prior to the retreat. I think those conversations served to create a bond and reasonable expectations prior to the retreat–a brilliant plan! I have described the weekend to several of my friends as both intense and well worth the money.” Becky, Business Owner, Cincinnati, Ohio
“I have referred clients to this deeply experiential retreat [Celebration of Rage] who are afraid of their anger and either stuff it or feel out of control with it. The safe space that Ruth creates, and being intensively in the process over many days has been beneficial to my clients and enhanced our ongoing work beautifully. Ruth King is a joy: a seasoned and skilled practitioner supporting therapists and their clients to break through to rage and other emotions. I would highly recommend this retreat for any woman that wants to deepen and accelerate her healing process.” Claire-Elizabeth DeSophia, Psychotherapist, Oakland, CA”
“I am blessed to have been in attendance in Pittsburgh, PA (07/07). The experience was emotional, raw, and uplifting all at the same time. Thank you for the lessons that I consider to be instrumental in the rebirth of my existence, the reawakening of knowing myself and the understanding that I am not alone. Continue to teach us true interaction with the world. Peace and love always!” Lisa Jackson, Interior Designer, Pittsburgh, PA
“Thanks for the depth and wisdom you bring to this important topic and for your [Spirit Rock] retreat! I see what the voice of rage is offering which is a healing salve that each one of us can identify and listen to. I see my own and others actions from such a different light after this weekend and will continue to “fill my rage out” in more compassionate and gentle ways.” Anonymous
“I am inspired at your courage, love and wisdom. It encourages my faith that we can be agents for change. You demonstrate this each moment.” Vangie King, Artist, Berkeley, CA
