Mindfulness & Racial Healing, Mind & Life Institute
October 21, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Mind & Life is pleased to announce the launch of Inspiring Minds: Live Conversations Offering Wisdom for Our Time. The monthly series will bring together thought leaders and contemplatives to engage with one another and the audience in exploring the role of the mind in human flourishing. At a time of profound global crises, we’ll be looking at how science and contemplative wisdom can inform efforts to build a more just, compassionate, and inclusive world.
Each heartfelt conversation will include a guided meditation and artistic offering, and inspire us with a call-to-action to be a force for positive change.
Join us via Zoom for the series premiere on October 21 at 2pm (ET) on the theme of “Mindfulness and Racial Healing.” Our featured speakers are Ruth King and Sharon Salzberg.
The 75-minute program will begin with a special performance by Dr. Stephen Nachmanovitch, an improvisational violinist, author, and educator. Stephen is the author of two books on the creative process, The Art of Is and Free Play.
The event will be moderated by Mind & Life Program Manager Shankari Goldstein and include ample time for audience questions and engagement. We hope you can join us for an afternoon of inspiration, connection, and community building!
Shankari Goldstein is a Program Manager at the Mind & Life Institute. She is an avid social justice activist and Certified Yoga of Recovery instructor who continues to find ways to help propel the voices of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) forward and share their embodied practices.
